We work to ensure that most of our offerings are Midwestern raised Black Angus or Colored Angus. This allows us to provide our friends and family domestically, and around the world, with a tender, juicy, flavorful, and enjoyable product that can only be found from beef raised in America’s heartland!

BLACK ANGUS

Cattle breeds carry their fat in two ways: in a thick outer layer (comparable to ducks) or marbled (in tiny specks and strips) throughout their meat. Angus is a marbled beef and is preferable to layered fat beef because marbled fat melts as it cooks, making the finished beef/steak moist, flavorful, and tender. 

Originally from Scotland, Angus are bred to flourish in medium to cooler climates and aren’t very tolerant of high temperatures. Because of this Angus raised in areas where temperatures stay lower, like Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota, rather than hotter climates like many lower US beef states, produce higher quality beef.
