Spicy Beef Back Ribs Recipe

The Essentials:

  • 5 pounds Best Beef Back Ribs, cut into 2 to 4 rib sections
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1½ cups finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 to 1½ teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1½ cups chili sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Pan to Plate:

  1. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 4–5 minutes until tender.
  2. Stir in chili sauce, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt.
  3. Reserve ½ cup of the sauce for basting.
  4. Place ribs in a foil roasting pan and coat with the remaining sauce.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and grill over medium heat for 1 to 1½ hours, or until fork tender.
  6. Remove ribs from the pan and place directly on the grill.
  7. Baste with reserved sauce and grill, covered, for 10–15 minutes, turning and basting once, until caramelized.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.
